Meet your farmers
Roach Family Farm is truly a family farm. John and Mardean purchased this farm in 2014 in hopes to instill Faith, Family, and Farming while enjoying the beautiful setting in Switzerland County.
John is the lead farmer and simply enjoys playing in the dirt! In addition to playing in the dirt and making hay, he loves collecting antique tractors and equipment. Watch for some of his treasures to be on display at the Daylily Patch. John is also a member of the Farmer Veteran Coalition and everything we sell at the farm is certified "Homegrown by Heroes" and "Indiana Grown".
Mardean is the caretaker of the livestock and the garden keeper. The last few years she has been making hay in between busy work schedules too! Mardean grew up raising chickens and always had a pig or calf to raise for freezer meat. One unique piece of equipment on the farm is her great-grandfather's hammer mill which is still used today to grind ear corn from their fields.
Corbin and Shayla help out as much as their school and work schedules will allow. Corbin likes all aspects of the farm and is great at fixing things. He enjoys operating the tractors and in his downtime likes to fish and renovate antique trucks. Shayla likes working with the animals with turkeys being her favorite. She enjoys fishing and has taken up theater.
